Why Did My Commission Drop This Week? Revenue Share Explained Honestly

Understand why revenue share can fluctuate from week to week, what the numbers actually reflect and when another model may suit you better.

Why Did My Commission Drop This Week? Revenue Share Explained Honestly

If your commission looked lower this week than last week, that does not automatically mean something is broken. In revenue share, movement is normal. A strong week can be followed by a quieter one, and referred traders who win can reduce the net result that your share is calculated from.

The important thing is to understand what the programme is actually paying on, when commission is released, and when a different model may suit your traffic better. Here is the honest version, without guesswork.

Revenue share is based on net trading losses, not just deposits

With Bynix, revenue share pays 50% at Starter up to 80% at Legend of the net trading losses of your referred traders. That single phrase explains most week-to-week drops.

If traders deposit and then trade profitably, your revenue share can be lower than expected for that period. If they lose more over time, your commission can rise again. This is why revenue share should be read over a longer window, not judged from one Monday to the next.

A few practical points matter here:

  • Trader wins deduct from the net result used for revenue share.
  • Bonus money never counts towards revenue share calculations.
  • Levels are based on total FTDs and never drop, even if a particular week is weaker.
  • Attribution is lifetime, with a 30-day cookie and first touch wins.

So if your available balance is lighter this week, check the trading outcome first before assuming traffic quality has fallen.

Why one week can look strong and the next can dip

Affiliates often expect a smooth upward curve. In trading offers, that is rarely how it works. The same group of traders can produce very different results from one week to another.

Common reasons include:

  • More referred traders finished the week in profit.
  • Fewer active traders placed real-money trades during the period.
  • Traders registered earlier but delayed their first deposit.
  • Your traffic source delivered clicks and registrations, but not many FTDs yet.
  • A larger share of activity came from bonus-led behaviour, which does not count in revenue share.

This is also why real-time data matters. In the dashboard, you can track clicks, registrations, FTDs, deposits, volume and commission per day, link and trader. That gives you enough detail to separate a genuine traffic issue from ordinary variance.

If you are running several placements, create separate links and use sub-IDs in the campaign field. With unlimited links available in Dashboard, it is easier to see whether the drop came from one creative, one geo or one publisher placement.

When your commission is paid, and why timing can confuse people

Another reason affiliates think commission has dropped is timing. Commission does not go straight into the available balance.

Here is how it works:

  1. Commission first collects in the hold balance.
  2. It is released to the available balance every Monday 06:00 SGT after fraud checks.
  3. Payouts are made in USDT (TRC-20).
  4. The minimum payout is $50.
  5. There is no Bynix fee, and payment is sent within 3 business days.

So if you compare hold balance, available balance and live trader activity at the wrong moment, the picture can look worse than it really is. Always check what has accrued, what is still on hold, and what has already been released.

Take the long-term view, not the emotional weekly view

Revenue share generally suits affiliates who want ongoing value from trader activity rather than a one-off result. Because Bynix uses lifetime attribution, one good referral can continue to matter long after the first deposit.

That said, the right mindset is operational, not emotional:

  • Review performance over several weeks, not one day.
  • Compare by traffic source, ad angle and geo.
  • Watch FTD quality, not just click volume.
  • Use trader-level and link-level stats to spot patterns early.
  • Avoid changing everything after one soft week.

Your level also matters over time. The programme levels are tied to total FTDs: Starter 0, Advanced 15, Professional 50, Expert 100, Master 200, Guru 400, Legend 700. Because levels never drop, building steadily can improve your share without needing every week to be a record.

When the Turnover model may be the better fit

If weekly variance is a problem for your traffic mix, the Turnover model may be worth considering. Instead of depending on net trading losses, it pays 2.0%–5.0% of every real-money stake, capped at 70% of the trader's deposits.

That can make performance easier to forecast for some partners, especially if:

  • Your audience is active and trades frequently.
  • You prefer volume-based earnings logic.
  • You do not want trader wins to affect your commission as directly as in revenue share.

It is not automatically better in every case. It is simply a different model. The honest approach is to compare your traffic behaviour, average trader activity and volatility tolerance before deciding which structure fits best.

What to check before assuming something went wrong

Before you raise a concern about a drop, work through the basics:

  1. Check whether referred traders had a profitable week.
  2. Check whether most activity was real-money trading rather than bonus-led activity.
  3. Check hold balance versus available balance.
  4. Check stats by link, sub-ID and trader.
  5. Check whether your source is sending FTD-ready traffic, not just registrations.
  6. Check compliance.

Compliance matters because certain methods are not allowed:

  • Brand bidding on Bynix
  • Impersonation
  • Promising guaranteed profits
  • Incentivised sign-ups
  • Spam
  • Cookie stuffing
  • Targeting minors or restricted countries

Also remember that US traffic is not accepted.

Build with clearer data and better expectations

The best affiliates in this category do not panic over one soft week. They use the data, understand the model and improve the traffic they control. If you create content, you can also strengthen intent by educating users properly before they click through.

For that, the Academy is useful for lessons, glossary terms, insights and tools. And if you use tracking platforms, postbacks are available in Links › Postbacks with the macros {click_id} {sub} {amount} {event}.

Next step

Open your Dashboard and review your last few weeks by link, sub-ID and trader before deciding whether the issue is variance or traffic quality.

Risk warning: trading involves significant risk; partners must never promise profits.
